Kelly Willis is coming to Susanna’s Kitchen for their every third Thursday concert series. The Doors open at 7 pm on February 21st @ Fellowship Hall, Wimberley United Methodist Church (corner RR 12 & CR 1492). Music starts at 7:30 pm and this is one your not going to want to miss.
Kelly Willis is an alternative country singer and with a new traditional voice. Seasoned in the Austin music scene Kelly has performed at Austin City Limits and judged local indie artist competitions. She’s worked with studios A&M, Rykodisc, and Premium Records to make a career of consistently great albums.
Some of her more recent work you’re likely to hear at the concert include “Don’t Step Away” and “Back Being Blue”. Her music is catchy and Kelly’s voice is adored by her fandom. Kelly’s songs go from capturing a deeper emotional portrait of life, to tune you have to dance to.
All of the proceeds from the Susanna’s Kitchen concert series go to the Barnabas Connection with Operation Good Shepherd and United Methodist Church with Mother’s day out. Barnabas Connection assists with poverty in Wimberley and helps provide emergency aid for those in need. Mother’s day out will be using the proceeds to give out daycare scholarships.
Don’t forget to bring an appetite, there will be delicious tamales, hot pizza, pie and soft drinks available at the kitchen window. I’ve been to a ton of concerts at this venue and I can tell you it’s a thrill. The crowd is wonderful, the food is great, and the music is always a hit. Come get your jam on and support your local charities at the same time!
